Don Hoy fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He bravely served our nation with the artillery units.
When he returned home, he became a jazz big band leader. He led the Don Hoy Orchestra for the rest of his life. He is honored with an induction to the Iowa Jazz Hall of Fame.
